Laurell K. Hamilton: Anita Blake #20: Hit List

I like this book because its back to Anita being Anita, US marshal and kick ass bad girl with Edward.
At somepoint of the series, after the Ardeur kicked on, I felt like I was reading sex novels or pornography, and it wasnt fun. But now with Bullet, and Hit List, I feel like we're getting Anita back.

Anita and Edward are on a out of home US marshal mission, following the trail of dead were-tigers killed by the harlequin - A. Blake world version of twilights Volturi and True Bloods 'the Authority' - only much much worse. The Harlequin is not to be mentioned by name unless you wanna die. Its like Edward said it in the beginning wich made me laugh.
'It feels like were in a Harry Potter book, talking about 'he who must not be named'

The harlequin are serving Marmee Noir, Mother of all vampires, the Darkness itself, who wants to take over Anita's human body as her own.

In the book, there is a tiny hint about Edward and Anita, and it left me wondering if someday there might be something more to those two. We know Edward Would sleep with Anita to feed her Ardeur if needed, but it feels so wrong that those two would never be, for real. They are so alike. But I cant imagine Edward ever being 'one of Anita's guys'. Edward would have to be THE one for her.

We also meet Bernardo and Olaf, and Anita collects another man to her harem from the Seattle weretigers, one with 3 different shapes Ethan. Olaf gets infected with lycantrophy and he runs of, not wanting to be one of Anita's animals to call or be made as her slave like Nicky is.

Anita ends up drinking up the darkness and 'killing' marmee noir, taking her inside herself, but not letting her take over her. So i wonder what happens next.
If there's onething missing from this book, its the Micah & Nathaniel duo.
I wish we would've seen them, but maybe next time. there are so many people in Anita's life and world that its almost impossible to have them all in the same book.
